In The Flesh (2013)
In The Flesh captures the emotions that emerge during the grieving process. Each bare ceramic torso expresses one of the five universal emotions of grief: heartbreak, unsettled stomach, emptiness, losing your breath, and heavy emotional pressure. The torsos reveal the body's internal responses to grief and expose the raw and invasive nature of the grieving process.
The four drawings were created as ground work for the construction and configuration of the bone and musculature frame of each torso.
Set the Table (2016)
Set the Table Ceramic Show and Sale, held at New Riff Distillery Event Center, showcased handmade pottery, dinnerware, and other handcrafted works by 15 regional ceramic artists (of which I was one).
